Hi, I’m Karen and I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, and I’m here to help you make sense of what’s going on in your life - whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or just not yourself. I’m not here to “fix” you, because you’re not broken. What I offer is a space where you can lay things down, breathe a little easier, and make sense of what’s been weighing on you. I know that life can feel messy and overwhelming — sometimes we lose sight of who we are, or we keep going until something inside says enough. In our sessions, we slow things down. We look at what really matters to you, and we find ways to move forward that feel authentic and doable. I bring warmth, honesty, and curiosity to my work. Think of me less as someone with all the answers, and more as someone walking beside you, helping you notice the patterns, untangle the knots, and discover your own way through.

Specialisms:

Low Self-Esteem PTSD Trauma Panic Attacks

I am an accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor, with four plus years in practice. I support clients experiencing stress, anxiety, abuse and trauma, coping with grief, loss and life events, improving motivation, self esteem, and confidence. The client's I work with show me every day that strength is present within vulnerability, and that learning to recognise the depth of your own resilience is one of the key changes that counselling can help you to make. In my experience, counselling is like opening a toolbox. Inside is a range of tools that you can choose to work with to create a positive difference, or in other words, finding the tools that do the job that you need them to do. The tools include empathy, respect, trust, listening, hearing and witnessing emotional pain, some theory and science and many strategies.
