I really believe in the strength of the therapeutic relationship as being one of the most helpful healing tools when engaging in therapy and so above all I wish to support my clients to feel as safe, supported and validated in their experiences as possible. I love fostering self compassion, nurture and care, and feel that the relationship we develop towards ourselves is extremely helpful when it comes to navigating difficult passages of our lives, and building resilience for the future.
I love to use my sensitivity as a Reiki practitioner and skills acquired as a Hypnotherapist to help me guide people towards their inner experiences, connecting clients to the subtle signals communicated via physical and emotional sensations in the body, while encouraging the exploration of thought patterns and the historical origins of troublesome issues.
I consider my approach to be sensitive and intuitive and always strive to be as responsive as possible to how my clients wish to work so as to move at a pace which feels most helpful to them. I often like to use mediation and mindfulness techniques to support the parasympathetic (otherwise known as the rest and digest) nervous system response, which can help people to feel safer and calmer in their bodies. I find that this can facilitate a state of being which allows for much greater clarity around how invasive thought patterns and uncomfortable bodily symptoms persist. I also like to offer tailor made tools to help my clients practice this for themselves and therefore find relief outside of session time.
I have the greatest respect for all who have the courage to invest in their wellbeing through therapy, and really appreciate how difficult and unnerving embarking on this journey can be. I recognise and value the expertise and wisdom all of my clients bring and while I may offer my thoughts and perspectives where they are welcomed I will always respect and defer to your inner knowing as that which holds the most value.
